He was born Culolethu Zulu and is most renowned for his trance-inducing deep house sound on his albums Elevation and Exodus, which earned him the 2014 Metro FM Music Award for Best Male Artist. Among the artists with whom he has worked are Thandiswa Mazwai, Moneoa, Salif Keita, Jimmy Dludlu, and Soulstar.
Culolethu Zulu, known as Culoe De Song, is a South African producer, mixer and DJ. His first name, "Culolethu", was an IsiZulu name meaning "our song", and he was known as "Culo" or "Culoe" which means "song"; The name is pronounced by pressing "C", is not mispronounced like "culo" in Spanish, rhymes with "cool". He released his debut album, A Giant Leap, in 2009. In 2011, he released the album Elevation with the help of Kindnes Khupe, a tribal mix DJ of Zimbabwe descent. Then he released Exodus. Culoe De Song recently won the Best Male Artist award at the 2014 Metro FM Awards for the album Exodus, an album in the Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums in 2013.
