Daniel Edward Aykroyd is a Canadian theater, film and television actor, comedian, writer, producer and musician who served as an original member of the "Not Ready for Prime Time Players" program of Saturday Night Live. A musical sketch he did with his friend John Belushi on SNL, The Blues Brothers, in which they transformed into a real theatrical band, and later in the five film The Blues Brothers. 1980. He conceived and played Dr. Raymond Stantz in Ghostbusters, the film that created the sequel and ultimately the entire media franchise. In 1990, he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role as Boolie Werthan in the 1989 film Driving Miss Daisy. He played the role of Reverend Mike Weber in his own sitcom, Soul Man. Aykroyd is also an entrepreneur who co-founded the House of Blues and Crystal Head Vodka concert hall chain.
