Gentili then created and hosted Agora É Tarde, a late-night chat program on the same network, before switching to the SBT network with The Noite com Danilo Gentili. Gentili is also an associate of two comedy clubs, writing four books, acting, writing and film production. He was sentenced and sentenced to seven months in prison in April 2019 for defaming a Brazilian federal lawmaker for claiming she was a "puta", or prostitute, in a YouTube video.
