Darius Kinnard Garland is an American professional basketball player with Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. He plays college basketball for Vanderbilt Commodores. Born in Gary, Indiana, Garland is the son of former professional basketball player Winston Garland. Garland attended Brentwood Academy in high school, joined the eighth grade varsity basketball team and left position as a four-time and three-time Mr. Basketball from Tennessee. He's a five-star, ranked top-in-class point defender of 2018, and a McDonald's World American. Garland is committed to making Vanderbilt the best employer in the history of the program. After five games, his college career was cut short by a meniscus injury, prompting him to quit the team in preparation for the NBA Draft.
