Dave Malloy is an American composer, playwright, lyricist and actor. He wrote a number of theatrical works, often based on works of classical literature. These include Moby-Dick, an adaptation of the classic novel by Herman Melville; Octet, an amphitheater choir on Internet addiction; Preludes, an imaginary musical in the mind of romantic composer Sergei Rachmaninoff; Ghost Quartet, a song about love, death and whiskey; and won the Tony, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet in 1812, an electronic opera based on War and Peace.
