David Sylvian is a famous British singer-songwriter in the late 1970s as the leader and lead musician of the Japanese group. The band's androgynous look and increasing electronic sound make them a major influence on the British 1980s New Romance scene. After the breakup, Sylvian started a solo career with her first album Brilliant Trees. His solo work has been described by AllMusic as "vast and esoteric" and includes collaborations with artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Robert Fripp, Holger Czukay, Jon Hassell, Bill Nelson and Fennesz. While his recordings from the 1980s and 1990s are a mix of pop, fusion jazz, and avant-garde experimentalism mixed with his surroundings, his recent compositions are increasingly popular. Inspired by musical minimalism and liberal improvisation.
