In the film, she received critical acclaim for her role as Mozelle Batiste-Delacroix in Eve's Bayou, for which she won the Independent Spiritual Award for Best Woman. In 2014, she began playing a recurring role as Estelle Green in the crime drama Power and the side story Power Book II: Ghost.
