NBA guard mostly for the Los Angeles Lakers who hit one of the most famous shots in NBA playoff history with 0.4 seconds left on the game clock to lift the Lakers over the San Antonio Spurs in game 5 of the 2004 Western Conference Semifinals. From 2014 to 2016, he was the head coach of the New York Knicks.

Derek Lamar Fisher is an American basketball coach and former player and head coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association. Fisher played professionally in the National Basketball Association for 18 seasons, spending most of his career on the Los Angeles Lakers, where he has won five NBA championships. He also played for the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks. He was also president of the National Basketball Players Association. Fisher played college basketball for the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans, winning the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year award in 1996. Selected by the Lakers with the 24th pick in the 1996 NBA Draft , he spent his first eight seasons with the franchise, winning three straight league titles with teammates Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal and coach Phil Jackson.
