He was recruited by numerous colleges, ultimately choosing to join the University of Memphis under the guidance of coach John Calipari. Rose led the Tigers to the most winning streak in NCAA history, ranked their first number one in 25 years, and made the NCAA Championship game. In 2009, an NCAA investigation found that Rose's SAT score was invalidated, and as a result, the NCAA was left blank for Memphis' entire 2007-08 season. Rose has suffered serious knee injuries since her 2010-2011 MVP campaign.
