Portuguese professional soccer player who has gained fame playing with Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., Porto, Atletico Madrid, and Liverpool FC.

Diogo José Teixeira da Silva, known as Diogo Jota, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Liverpool and the Portuguese national team. He started playing for Paços de Ferreira, before signing with La Liga club Atlético Madrid in 2016. After two seasons in Primeira Liga, he received a succession from Primeira Liga FC Porto in 2016 and from the English league club EFL Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017. Jota helped Wolves get promoted to the Premier League for the first time since 2012. He then joined the club in July 2018 on a € 14 million permanent contract and went on to make more than 100 appearances for them. In September 2020, Jota signed a contract with Liverpool for an estimated price of 50 million euros. Jota is a former Portuguese International Youth, representing his country under the ages of Under 19, Under 21 and Under 23.
