David John LeMahieu is an American professional baseball player on the New York Yankees baseball team of Major League Baseball. Previously, he played for the Chicago Cubs and the Colorado Rockies. The Cubs picked LeMahieu in the second round of the 2009 MLB tournament out of LSU, and he made his MLB debut for the Cubs in 2011 before being traded to the Rockies before 2012. With Colorado, LeMahieu won. Gold Gloves Award in 2014, 2017 and 2018, was named All-Star in 2015 and 2017, and won the National Federation polishing title in 2016. After becoming a free player after the 2018 season, he signed a two-year contract with the Yankees, where he played third full back, second full back and occasionally first full back. His defensive versatility and punching ability have earned LeMahieu the nickname “LeMachine” by Gary Sánchez. It is also known as the Big Fundy, due to the basics of its sound engineering.
