Donald Carlton Lemon is an American television journalist. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he watched the weekend news programs on local TV stations in Alabama and Pennsylvania during his early days as a reporter. Lemon then worked as a news reporter for NBC on its shows, such as Today and NBC Nightly News, then joined CNN in 2006, also as a reporter. He then became known as a CNN Tonight host starting in 2014. Lemon is also the recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award and three Regional Emmy Awards.
