About Doug McDermott
Former Creighton Blue Jays player who finished his NCAA career as the league's seventh all-time scorer. The Denver Nuggets selected him 11th overall in the NBA Draft, and he was then traded to the Chicago Bulls. He went on to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, and Dallas Mavericks after spending almost two years in Chicago.
Douglas Richard McDermott is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers National Basketball Team of the National Basketball Association. While playing college basketball for Creighton University, he led the nation in scoring records in the 2013-14 season and was the first team in the entire US to have three consensus. He was the National Senior Consensus Player of the Year in 2014 and ended his college career by scoring the fifth most in men's basketball history of NCAA Division I. After graduating from Creighton, McDermott himself qualified for the 2014 NBA Draft, where he was ranked 11th overall by the Denver Nuggets. He was traded for Chicago Bulls and then played two and a half seasons for the Bulls before being traded for Oklahoma City Thunder in February 2017. McDermott also played for the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks. McDermott is the son of current Creighton coach Greg McDermott; Greg has coached Doug throughout his college career.
