Ebonie Michelle Smith is a former American actress, model, and psychiatrist known for her role as Jessica Jefferson in the sitcom The Jeffersons from 1984 to 1985. She is sometimes referred to as Ebony Smith. Smith also played the character M'Lila in the Xena TV series and as a young La Toya Jackson in the TV miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream. She is also known as Carrie Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon movies and has had recurring roles on Webster and Family Matters. Smith is the daughter of Michelle Smith and a father who is a police officer. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts at USC in Film Production and Chinese Language and Culture. In addition to English and Spanish, she also speaks Mandarin.
