Panamanian musician considered to be one of the innovators of the Reggaeton sub-genre.

Edgardo Armando Franco, also known as El General, is a Panamanian veteran, considered by some to be one of the fathers of "Reggae Español". In the early 1990s, he was one of the artists launching the Spanish dancehall reggae dancehall music. The first examples of this are international and somewhat traditional songs, "Te Ves Buena" and "Tu Pum Pum". Both songs, performed in the Spanish deejaying style, were very successful in North America. After entering the commercial market, many other Spanish-speaking reggae artists also became famous in popular music. He has a unique style of dance music that is easy to listen to and has produced many famous songs throughout Latin America. His musical works have become popular in Latin America in recent years. This style is called reggae in Español because it created reggae dancehall music with lyrics in Spanish and was one of reggaeton's early precursors.
