Eoin Joseph Gerard Morgan is an Irish-born cricketer who leads the British cricket team in the Limited Cricket, Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and Middlesex in Vitality T20 Blast. Under his leadership, England won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, winning the tournament for the first time. As a left-handed player, he plays seed cricket for Middlesex and has played for England Test, One Day International and Twenty20 International. Previously he played for the Irish cricket team in the ODI and was the first player to reach 100 ODI points for two countries. After Alastair Cook was removed from his duties as ODI captain on December 19, 2014, Morgan was named England captain for the 2015 Cricket World Cup, as England captain in the ODI and T20I as preparatory. He is the only English captain to have marked more than 4 ODI centuries. As of December 2019, Morgan is England's all-time top scorer and England's best player in ODI matches.
