Outfielder who made his Major League Baseball debut with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010 before joining the Seattle Mariners in 2012. In 2016, he signed a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, and he entered the 2017 season as the team's starting first baseman.

Eric Allyn Thames was the first American professional baseball player and midfielder for the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball. He played in Major League Baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Washington Nationals and in the KBO League for the NC Dinos. Thames played college baseball for Pepperdine Waves and was selected by the Blue Jays in the 2008 MLB tournament. He made his MLB debut for Toronto in 2011 and transferred to the Mariners in 2012. After spending the 2013 season in Minor League Baseball, he signed with the Dinos for the 2014 season. He won the KBO League MVP award in 2015 and signed with Brewers for the 2017 season debut
