Erik Robert Johnson is an American ice hockey defender and replacement captain of Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League. Nicknamed "Condor", Johnson previously played for St. John's. Louis Blues, for whom he was selected as the first overall pick in Draft NHL 2006. In addition, he has represented the United States in many tournaments. Johnson was drafted as part of the US National Hockey Team Development Program and played a season at the University of Minnesota before joining NHL with St. John's. Louis in 2007. In 2010-2011, he was transferred to Colorado, where he has been playing since.
