Before signing with AEW, Sydal wrestled during WWE as Evan Bourne, and as WWE Tag Team Champion with Kofi Kingston. Sydal is also known for his time on Impact Wrestling, where he was a former champion of Impact Grand Champion and Impact X Division Champion, and in Ring of Honor, where he was former world champion of ROH team. He also wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he was a two-time former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team champion and one EVER 6-man heavyweight card team champion. Korklan has also wrestled on independent rounds, for promotions like NWA Midwest, IWA-Mid South, winning singles and team championships. He also wrestled for the X Short-term Wrestling Association.
