In 2013, he made his MLB debut with the Atlanta Braves as a catcher and outfielder. In his two years with the Braves, he hit 43 home runs before being traded to the Houston Astros in 2015. As a member of the Astros, he won his first World Series title in 2017.

James Evan Gattis is a former American professional baseball player in charge of hitting and catching balls. He played in Major League baseball for the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros. Gattis is also nicknamed "El Oso Blanco" or the Polar Bear, due to the possibility that his raw prowess will play for the Venezuela Winter Tournament. While in Atlanta, he played wrestling and occasionally left the field. Gattis was a leading amateur baseball player in the Dallas - Fort Worth area until high school. However, anxiety and drug addiction caused him to abandon his scholarship at Texas A&M University. After roaming the western United States for four years, he returned to baseball and was initiated by the Braves in 2010. After playing in the Braves light baseball tournament, Gattis made the team's opening list in 2013. After playing alongside Brian McCann on the Disability roster, Gattis won the rookie award of National League month for April and May 2013 .
