Evan Shaw Parker is an English soprano and soprano saxophonist, freelance improviser. Recorded and performed successfully with numerous collaborators, Parker has been a key figure in the development of European free and improvised jazz. He pioneered or greatly expanded a wide range of techniques. Critics Ron Wynn have described Parker as "one of Europe's most convincing and creative saxophonists ... his work as a solo saxophone is not for the geek."
