Evander Frank Kane is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. Kane was selected fourth in the first round of the 2009 NHL Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers. During his main competitive career, Kane won the Memorial Cup with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League in 2007, finishing second in the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as a WHL rookie in 2008 and was named to the WHL West First All-Star Team in 2009.. Kane also set the franchise record for the Giants in terms of goals in a 2008-09 season. Internationally, Kane won the gold medal with Team Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2008 and the World Youth Championship 2009. He also competed at the World Championship IIHF 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
