Fantasia Monique Barrino, known as Fantasia, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, actor and author. Following her win, she released her first single, "I Believe", standing at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. She then released her debut album Free Yourself, which was subsequently certified Platinum by the RIAA and won three Grammy nominations at Barrino in 2006. In 2006, she released her second album, Fantasia, of which has single "When I See U" topped the Billboard Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Songs chart for eight weeks. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA and received three Grammy nominations in 2008. She then played Celie in the Broadway musical The Color Purple, which won the 2007 World Theater Award
