Santiago Leyva, known by his stage name Fashawn, is an American hip hop artist from Fresno, California. He got the first big attention after the release of his debut album Boy Meets World in 2009, which was produced entirely by Exile. The album was critically acclaimed and featured on the cover of XXL Magazine's Top 10 Freshmen magazine in 2010. Since then, Fashawn has collaborated with other artists and producers like Nas., J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Evidence, Walls, Aloe Blacc, Blu, the Alchemist and the Ninth Wonders. In 2014, Fashawn performed the opening theme of Korean weight champion Timothy Bradley's rematch against Manny Pacquiao.

Fashawn family life

His father was incarcerated while he was a child, and his mother struggled with drug addiction. When he and his sister were eight years old, they were placed in a group home. Uncle Roy adopted and raised them.
