Fatima Whitbread MBE is a former British javelin thrower. She won the 1986 European Championship in Stuttgart, after breaking the world record with a 77.44-meter throw in qualifying the day before. She won the world championship in 1987 in Rome. She is also an Olympic medalist twice, winning a bronze medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and a silver award at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Her old world record made her one of only two women in history to throw a javelin over 75 meters.
