Ferguson Arthur "Fergie" Jenkins CM is a former professional baseball coach and athlete from Canada. He played Major League baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox. Jenkins has played most of his career for the Cubs. He was the National League and Cub All-Star for three seasons, and in 1971 he was Canada's pitcher and the first Cub to win the Cy Young Award. He's the winner of 20 games in seven seasons, including six in a row for the Cubs. He was the NL leader in wins in 1971 and the American Federation leader in wins in 1974. Jenkins was also the NL leader in full sets in 1967, 1970 and 1971, and was the AL leader in full sets in 1974. He led NL in attacks in 1969 and had over 3,000 attacks in his career. His 284 wins are the most important for a single black pitcher in the history of major tournaments.
