Francis Asbury Tarkenton is a former American football defenseman who played for the National Football Federation for 18 seasons, primarily with the Minnesota Vikings. He played varsity rugby for the University of Georgia, where it was recognized as the All-SEC First Class team twice, and was selected by the Vikings in the third round of the NFL Draft in 1961.
