Freema Agyeman is a British actress known for her portrayal of Martha Jones in the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who, Alesha Phillips in the Law & Order: United Kingdom criminal proceeding and Amanita Caplan in sci-fi. Netflix Sense8 and Dr. Helen Sharpe in NBC New Amsterdam's Series on Medical Procedures. After leaving Doctor Who, Agyeman reworked his role as Martha Jones in the hit Doctor Who series Torchwood and played a role in the BBC series Little Dorrit. In 2013, she made her American television debut in the CW drama The Carrie Diaries, as Larissa Loughlin, editor of Interview magazine. Other events on television include Old Jack's Boat, Silent Witness, and Survivors. Agyeman also appeared as Penny in the 2015 film North v South.
