About Gary Gait
Former professional lacrosse player who helped Canada win the 2006 World Lacrosse Championship. He won three Major League Lacrosse championships and seven times led the league in scoring.
Gary Charles Gait is a retired Canadian professional volleyball player and currently the head coach of the women's volleyball team at Syracuse University, where he has played the sport at university level. On 24 January 2017, he was appointed interim member of the United Women's Lacrosse League. He teamed up for the Syracuse Orange men's volleyball team and professionally was in the National Indoor Volleyball Tournament and Outdoor MLL, while representing Canada on the international stage. Gait was inducted into the United States National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the National Lacrosse Federation Hall of Fame. He was a four-time United States player for the Syracuse Orange men's volleyball team from 1987 to 1990, and competed in three NCAA championships. He has won a Lt. Award twice. Raymond Enners, awarded to the best college volleyball player, in 1988 and 1990. Gait holds Syracuse's career record of 192 and his season record of 70, his NCAA until 2008
