George Washington Benson is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He started his professional career at the age of 19 as a jazz guitarist. Once a child prodigy, Benson made his debut in the 1960s, performing jazz soul music with Jack McDuff and others. After that he began a successful solo career, alternating between jazz, pop, R&B and sc vocals. His album Breezin 'was certified three platinum, failed. 1 on the 1976 Billboard Albums chart. His concerts were in large numbers by audiences throughout the 1980s, and he still has a large following. Benson was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
