George Robert Lazenby is an Australian actor, boxer and former model. He is known to have played the fictional British spy James Bond in the Eon Productions series, playing the character in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Lazenby's tenure as Bond is the shortest of the official series actors and he is the only Bond actor from the series to appear in a single film, as well as he is the only non-British or Irish actor in the role. Beginning his career as a professional model, Lazenby had no previous film experience and only starred in commercials when he was chosen by producer Albert R. Broccoli to replace Bond actor Sean Connery. At 29, he is the youngest actor to play the role of Bond and the only non-European actor to take on the role in the Bond series.
