George Robert Stephanopoulos is an American TV presenter, political commentator and former Democratic adviser. Stephanopoulos is currently co-hosts with Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, and hosts this Week, the Sunday morning news show on ABC. From 2014 to 2020, Stephanopoulos held the title of ABC News' Head of Anchor, demoted to 2021 only in the morning when David Muir began new assignments, including breaking news in the evening and the golden hour. Before becoming a journalist, Stephanopoulos was an adviser to the Democratic Party. He rose to prominence as the director of communications for Bill Clinton's presidential campaign in 1992 and later became the director of communications for the White House. He then served as Senior Policy and Strategy Advisor before leaving in December 1996
