Gregory Shane Helms is an American professional wrestler. He's currently signed to WWE, as a wrestler and as a behind-the-scenes producer. During WWE, Helms fought as The Hurricane, Gregory Helms and Hurricane Helms. He is also known for his time in Wrestling World Championship, where he wrestled as "Sugar" Shane Helms. Helms first started wrestling in 1991 at the age of 17, and wrestled in numerous independent promotions, including the Modern-day Grappling Art Foundation, which won many light weight championships and teammate. In 1999, he signed with WCW and became known as "Sugar" Shane Helms, a member of 3 Count. While there, he won both the WCW Hardcore and WCW Cruiserweight Championship titles. When WCW was taken over by the World Wrestling Federation, Helms's contract was retained by WWF. Helms changed his name to "The Hurricane" and won the WWE Cruiserweight championship.
