About Gregory Nicotero

On the hit AMC TV series The Walking Dead, he served as a special effects creator, director, make-up artist, and actor. He rose to prominence because to his work on the special effects makeup for the 1985 film Day of the Dead.

Gregory Nicotero is an American special effects makeup designer, television producer and director. Her first major job in special effects makeup was aboard the George A. Romero Day of the Dead film, directed by Romero and veteran makeup effect Tom Savini. In 1988, together with Robert Kurtzman and Howard Berger, he founded KNB EFX Group, a special makeup effects studio that has completed over 400 film and television projects. KNB has won numerous awards, including the 2001 Emmy Award for her work on Frank Herbert's 2000 sci-fi channel Dune and a 2006 Oscar for makeup for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the wardrobe. He currently works as an executive producer, special makeup effects supervisor and senior director of the AMC TV series The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. Nicotero has directed 31 episodes of The Walking Dead and is the author of the web series The Walking Dead: Webisodes.
