Harsh Kumar Gupta is an Indian geologist and seismologist known for his pioneering work in estimating reservoir-induced earthquakes. He is the former Vice Rector of the Cochin University of Science and Technology and Researcher Raja Ramanna at the National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad. Recipient of the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology 1983, India's highest award in the category of science and technology, and Waldo E. Smith Award, Gupta received the fourth highest Indian civilian title from Padma Shri in 2006 .
