Hasan Minhaj is an American comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor and television presenter. Best known for his Netflix Patriot Act starring Hasan Minhaj, he won two Peabody Awards and two Webby Awards. After making popular comics and starring in small roles on television, he stood out for his work on The Daily Show as a senior reporter from 2014 to 2018. Minhaj was a prominent speaker at the dinner des White House reporters in 2017. His first independent comedy, Homecoming King, which debuted on Netflix on May 23, 2017, received positive reviews from critics and earned him his first Peabody Award at 2018. Minhaj left The Daily Show in August 2018 to host a weekly comedy show, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, which premiered on Netflix on October 28, 2018. In April 2019, he was won a second Peabody Award for the Patriot Act and he is listed on TIME's list of 100 of the most influential people around the world.
