Notable for his contributions to the rock and country fusion genre known as rockabilly, this singer, songwriter, and guitarist released a number of albums, including Rockabilly Rhythm (2005) and Rock-A-Billy Gal: The Sun Years, Plus (2008).
Hayden Thompson is an American rockabilly singer, songwriter and musician. He is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Thompson was born in Booneville, Mississippi, United States. In high school, Thompson founded the Southern Melody Boys, the group that recorded a broadcast. “I Feel the Blues Coming On” was sung by Thompson and allowed them to appear on another radio station on “Louisiana Hayride”. Thompson then joined the Dixie Jazzlanders, who toured in Mississippi. He moved to Memphis, Tennessee and made an unreleased recording in 1956. "Love My Baby" was released on Phillips International in September 1957, and Thompson toured with Sonny Burgess and Billy. Lee Riley. The following year, Thompson moved again to Chicago, Illinois, where he resided at the Rivoli Ballroom, Chicago's last country music venue. Thompson's "$ 16.88" recording to Kapp Records sold enough to secure him an offer to record his debut album.
