British chemist and astronaut who was the first woman to visit the Mir Space Station and the first Briton to go to space. She was chosen to be a member of the Project Juno initiative.

Helen Patricia Sharman, CMG, OBE, HonFRSC is a chemist who became the first British astronaut and first Western European woman in space as well as the first woman to visit the Mir space station in May 1991.
