One of Ireland's greatest hurlers, won his 12th Leinster title in 2012, and set numerous hurling records during his much celebrated career.

Henry Shefflin is a retired Irish hurdler who played as center-back for senior team Kilkenny. A native of Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny, Shefflin first played competitive obstacles while still at St. John's School. Kieran College. He went to the inter-district at the age of seventeen when he first teamed up with the Kilkenny youth team, before lining up with the Under-21 team and intermediate level. He made his senior debut in the 1999 tournament. Shefflin has since continued to play a key role in Kilkenny's striker, and has won a record ten All-Ireland medals as well as thirteen Leinster medals and six National Hurling League medals. The captain of the All Ireland Championship in 2007, he has reached the all Ireland final three times. A member of the Leinster Intercity Team several times, Shefflin has won three Railroad Cup medals. At the club level, he is the three-time All-Ireland medalist with the Ballyhale Shamrocks.
