Hideo Kojima is a Japanese video game designer, director, producer and writer. Considered a video game author, he developed an intense passion for cinema and action / adventure literature throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 1986, he was hired by Konami, who designed and wrote Metal Gear for MSX2, a game that laid the foundation for stealth games and the Metal Gear series, his most famous and beloved works. The title that made him one of the most acclaimed video game designers is Metal Gear Solid for PlayStation. He is also known for producing the Zone of the Enders series, as well as writing and designing Snatcher and Policenauts, graphic adventure games known for their cinematic slideshows. In 2005, Kojima founded Kojima Productions, a software company controlled by Konami, and in 2011, he was appointed as the vice president of Konami Digital Entertainment. In 2015, Kojima Productions separated from Konami to become an independent studio.
