Hall of Fame defensive end with the Los Angeles Raiders, who won Super Bowl XVIII in 1984. After retiring, he became an NFL sportscaster after amassing 91.5 career sacks.

Howard Matthew Moses Long is an American former football player, actor and analyst. He has played in the National Football League for 13 seasons and has dedicated his entire career to the Raiders franchise in Oakland and Los Angeles. Chosen by the Raiders in the second round of the 1981 NFL Draft, Long received eight Pro Bowl and three All-Pro for the first team while helping the team win the Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XVIII. He was inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame in 2000. After his retirement, Long pursued a career in acting and broadcasting, as well as a studio analyst for the NFL from Fox Sports. He is the father of former NFL defenseman Chris Long and NFL defenseman Kyle Long.
