Captain Canada was an equestrian show jumper who won the Canadian Show Jumping Championship eleven times. He has also won gold medals at the Pan American Games in 1987 and 1999.

Ian Millar, CM is an athlete from the Canadian Equestrian Demonstration Team. He is a double dance world champion and Olympic silver medalist. Because of his longevity and achievements, he is often referred to as "Captain Canada" in his sport. He holds the record for most Olympic appearances by any athlete in any sport. As a member of the Canadian 2012 Olympics team, he broke the record by joining the 10th London 2012 Olympics .
