Itzhak Perlman is an American Israeli violinist, conductor and music teacher. Throughout his career, Perlman has performed around the world and in the United States, at venues such as the White House State Dinner in honor of Queen Elizabeth II and the inauguration of the President Obama. He has conducted the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Westchester Symphony Orchestra. In 2015, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He has received 16 Grammy Awards, including one Grammy for Lifetime Achievement and four Emmy Awards.
