Martha Ivelisse Pesante Rodríguez, known as Ivy Queen, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, rapper, actress and record producer. She was first noticed as a member of Noise in Puerto Rico. There, she performed her first song "Somos Raperos Pero No Delincuentes". Queen worked solo in 1996 and released her first studio album En Mi Imperio, which was quickly picked up by Sony Discos for distribution in 1997. She then released The Original Rude Girl, her second studio album. to Sony, creating hit single "In The Zone." However, Ivy Queen did not gain popularity until she switched to an independent record label to release her third studio album, Diva. in 2003. The albums of Queen, Diva, Flashback and Sentimiento, all received gold and platinum titles from the Recording Industry Association. Her seventh studio album, Drama Queen, was released in 2010 and produced one of the top 10 single "La Vida es Así".
