Clyde Jackson Browne is an American singer, songwriter and musician who has sold over 18 million albums in the United States. Emerging as a teenage musician in the mid-1960s in Los Angeles, he had his first success writing songs for others, writing "These Days" at the age of 16; the song became a small hit from the German singer and Andy Warhol defended Nico in 1967. He also wrote songs for the other Southern California bands Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Eagles, they had the first Top 40 Billboard hit in 1972 with "Take it Easy" written by Browne. Inspired by his success in writing songs for others, Browne released his debut album in 1972, which produced two of his own Top 40 hits, "Doctor, My Eyes" and "Rock Me On The Water".
