Jacob "Jake" Virtanen is a professional Canadian ice hockey winger who currently plays for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. Nicknamed "Shotgun Jake" by Canucks fans, Virtanen was drafted by Canucks in sixth place in Draft NHL 2014. Virtanen played junior level hockey with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League and represented Canada five times in international competitions at the 2013 U-17 World Hockey Challenge, 2013 U-18 World Championship, World Championship IIHF U18, World Championship IIHF U20 Years 2015 World U20 Championship and Championship IIHF 2016.
