Jamaal RaShaad Jones Charles is a former American football player. He played varsity rugby for the University of Texas and was pitched by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Replacing full-back Larry Johnson, Charles only made 67 shots within 357 yards. His breakout season came the following year, 2009. In his second year, Charles ran 190 times in 1,120 yards, starting only 10 games after Larry Johnson was suspended. Shortly thereafter, Johnson was released, allowing Charles to become the starting full-back of Kansas City. Charles is the all-time leader in yards per carry among players with at least 1,000 carry with 5.38 yards per carry.
