His first single, Shontelle's "Impossible", was released by Syco Music after the finale and ranked number one on the UK Singles Chart. Since then, it has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide, becoming the most successful single in the series' history. The next single, "You're Nobody 'to Somebody Loves You", reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. He released his debut studio album in November 2013. The album debuted and peaked at number two on the UK Album Chart. After releasing his debut studio album James Arthur, he was entangled in a series of controversies that caused iTunes to refund the album. Arthur broke up with Simon Cowell's Syco label in 2014
