James Hillier Blount, also known as James Blunt, is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumental musician and record producer. A former reconnaissance officer in the Life Guards regiment of the British Army, he served under NATO during the Kosovo war of 1999. After leaving the army, he rose to prominence in 2004 with the release of his album. Debuted Back to Bedlam, gaining worldwide fame with the singles "You Are Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover". Blunt's debut album sold over 11 million copies worldwide, surpassing the UK album chart and reaching number two in the US. "You're Beautiful" ranks number one in the UK, US and dozens of other countries. Back to Bedlam was the UK's top-selling 2000s album and one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history. Blunt has sold over 20 million records worldwide.
