Jane Jungyon Kim is an American civil rights lawyer and politician and the first Korean-American elected in San Francisco. She represented San Francisco's District 6 on the Supervisory Board from 2011 to 2019. She is currently a member of the Central Committee of the Democratic District of San Francisco and was the recipient of the most votes on the AD17 Board of Directors in 2016 and 2020. Prior to being elected to the Supervisory Board, Kim served as a member and later it is the president of San Francisco. Board of Education. In 2016, she ran for District 11 of the California State Senate, but lost to Scott Wiener in the primary after finishing first in the primary. She was a mayoral candidate in the San Francisco mayoral election in 2018, finishing third with 24.03% of the vote in the first round. She served as California political director and national regional political director for Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign.
